I hope everyone had a good Canada Day weekend! I spent most of mine in California, attending the wonderful Kate Wolf Music Festival. As a bonus I got to attend a concert in Novato, California on Sunday night featuring Bill Kirchen and three other members of the Lost Planet Airmen, including one of my all-time steel guitar heroes, Bobby Black.
Here are some of the things I will be up to in the next while.
This Saturday, July 6, I am playing pedal steel in a Stampede Week show in Calgary with the great Bobby C. Dove (https://bobbydove.com) at The Dandy Brewing Company (http://thedandybrewingcompany.com). Music starts at 9 PM.
I'm very excited to be playing with Andrea House and Mitch Watkins at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival (https://edmontonfolkfest.org). The Festival runs from August 8-11. Information about Andrea and Mitch can be found on their respective websites: https://www.andreahouse.com and http://www.mitchwatkins.com. Mitch produced Andrea's new CD, "Fire", which I had the honour of playing some pedal steel guitar on.
A fall tour on the west coast is in the planning stages - more on that later.
